What: 100 Sing Gala Concert - The programme highlights music linked to Portsmouth, including three works by Freda Swain, the city’s leading 20th-century composer, championed by Professor George Burrows, who will also present a free lecture-recital. A new commission, Portsmouth: Stone, Sand and Song, premieres alongside favourites such as Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, Rutter’s Gloria, McDowall Ave Maris Stella, Parry’s Blest Pair of Sirens and Jerusalem, and Walton’s Portsmouth Point.
